I have owned this Mobylette AV48 for about 10 years and it is finally time to let a few things go.
The Mobylette AV48 was very similar to the AV42, AV44 just with a few extras. Fitted with the variator clutch and trumpet exhaust, to give slightly improved performance, this model also benefits with hub brakes and front suspension for better ride handling. This particular bike has a speedometer, though many just had a blanking plate.
The bike has been kept looking as original as when I first got it however it now runs well and pulls me along despite my bit of extra baggage.
The work done to this bike recently:
- New Piston kit fitted with gaskets
- Exhaust cleaned out and refitted
- New Tyres and Inner Tubes.
- New drive belt
- New AR2-12 Genuine Gurtner Carburettor. The original BA10 parts are not available for and this carb was fitted as an upgrade replacement.
- Inline Fuel filter and new line fitted
- I have the original saddle which needs recovering should you require it, but the new one fitted is so much more comfortable!
- New old stock fuel cap
- New inner cable wires for brakes, throttle and choke to keep the bike looking retro
- New stand and spring. Stand left in bare metal can be painted or lacquered.
- Front brake shoes and hub cleaned out and adjusted to be working
- Rear brake shoes replaced with new and hub and shoes adjusted to work well.
- General light maintenance to other areas such as grease/oiling etc.
- I done about 10 smiles on the moped and recently fitted a new novi condensor to improve restarting.

- The Moped has been registered with a new V5 document with the registration PUB 306D
- Engine and frame number present.
- I can also supply a spares manual print out to the new owner.
