SUPER RARE 1957 / 1958 MOTOBECANE MOBYLETTE AV32 M, WITH ORIGINAL LEGSHIELDS SOLD

THIS SUPER RARE MOBYLETTE AV32M DATES AROUND LATE 1957 - EARLY 1958

--- Good Points:-

This AV32 M is very similar to the earlier AV32S models, the main differences being the exhaust mounted centrally from the engine rather than the side and the attractive wrap around fuel tank.

This bike comes direct from the personal collection of Moped Malc and was in the area during the great reveal filmed by Channel 4 Television's  "Find It Fix It Flog" with celebreties Henry Cole and Simon O'Brien. The bike has been in my possession for many years and is being sold due to a change in circumstances.

This AV32 Mobylette comes with a set of legshields. The legshields have what looks like a dealers logo and a period French man and attractive French Lady. The legshields require precise fitting so as not to foul the pedals and front mudguard. The two lower brackets may need some adjustment to fit in the best way.I suspect due to the speed the legshields were not used on the bike very often. They would have been an optional extra as the bikes were not sold with them as standard

The engine is free turning upon pedalling. I not made any attempts to start the bike, but it was running a few years ago when prior to storage

All the tinware appears to be there including the side panels which often went missing

The bike comes with its original pump which is also extremely rare to see. 

The rear light lens is in excellent condition and the large looking front light the lens is complete.

--- Not so Good Points:-

There is no paperwork as this bike was bought by me many years in the Uk before NOVA was introduced. It does have a cessation d insurance on it, however these are nothing to do with NOVA. The NACC Autocycle Club can assist with registering the machine should this be required. This Moped would have originated in France where number plates were not required on models of this age.

The tyres do not look very old, though the front one has a split in it.
