Genuine New Old Stock

Raleigh RM7 Wisp 36 Tooth Sprocket - Genuine Original From the Raleigh Factory in the late 1960's

I have included 6 shakeproof washers (non original).

Raleigh Part Number MTK295

The 36 Tooth Sprocket was specially made by Raleigh to replace the original 44 tooth. This was because it was found that the 44 teeth led to over-revving of the engine when riding the Wisp on the flat which could lead to engine damage. You can still use a 44 teeth sprocket, however would just need to be careful not to run it flat out at high speed for too long.

This 36 Tooth Sprocket will give a smoother performance when riding on the flat.

I am still finding rare items in the stock from my storage of the Raleigh Moped Shop Aplins Motorcycles when they closed.

The Raleigh RM7 Wisp was manufactured in the Uk by Raleigh and was similar is some ways to the RSW bicycles, but the bicycles had parts based on Sturmey Archer and were much different which has caught me out over the years. As far as I know this drive chain sprocket was never made for any other bike apart from the Raleigh Wisp so is extremely rare. To manufacture a drive sprocket for a motorcycle the sprocket would need to be made from hardened material and tested fit for purpose. I kept this last remaining sprocket with the intention to use as a template to get a batch manufactured, but tooling costs would make it unfeasible to produce.
