1961 Motobecane Mobylette AV89 Moped - SORRY NOW SOLD

This is one of the more desirable early models distinctive with:-

• Round Headlight with speedometer mounted inside the lamp
• Trailing front fork suspension and Rear suspension
• Larger compression ratio of 9:1 and BHP of 2.66 at 5,6000 rpm
• Larger Carburettor and intake
• The performance of the AV89 is around 40-45mph. These models were very desirable due to their superfast speed compared to standard models.

The model for sale has:-

• New front tyre (note should be whitewall)
• New Front and Rear Brake Cable inners
• Front mounted mudguard hood ornament is a cat and would not have been on the bike originally. Have tried to find out what it is, but not a jaguar car one. Could be quite rare? Any information much appreciated
• Odometer states 919.8 though doubt if this is correct
• Behind the saddle is a metal seat. This configuration could be replaced with one dual seat or kept as it was.
• Spring loaded rear rack
• The tool kit is even present when the mobylette compartment is opened
• The bike looks like it has undergone some brush painting at some point and so could do with restoration although has plenty of character
• The front headlight glass is missing
• The electric buzzer bell works when pressed
• The bike has just arrived from France between Le Mans and Paris. The NOVA process is being done by Classic Moped Spares to help you should you need to register the bike on the road at a later stage.
