Size 2.125 x 12 to replace the original 2.00 x 12 Tyres which are no longer available. This is the closest size available and the difference is only 0.125 inch

Good Quality with a beaded edge and tougher construction than standard bicycle tyres (Please compare images)

4mm roadster tread pattern.

Maximum Inflation 40psi (2.8bar).  

Since 2013 these were previously sold by Club members, Classic Vehicle Parts Organisations and Moped Parts on large market places as their preferred choice before we stocked them to help people out with their restorations.

These fit unmodified classic mopeds, and electric scooters and vintage cycles, for display or very limited use at low speeds of 15-25 mph.

Fitment

As these are slightly wider these are a slightly tighter fit so please use appropriate tyre levers and tyre lubricant so as not to damage the tyre during fitting. Note some washing up liquids can contain salts which can rot your chrome rims. Inflating and deflating a few times can also help with fitment. It is recommended that these tyres are fitted by a qualified cycle/garage mechanic and if fitting the whitewalls use gloves!

N.B. These tyres may not meet new tougher MOT rules on new vehicles, but are the best tyres in this size we can find and have been successfully tested and fitted for a number of years by Ariel Three Club Members, Raleigh Wisp Owners to name but a few. Please check with an MOT Tester if unsure.

Background

The original Michelin Tyres are no longer available. After phoning many companies I have not managed to find anyone to reproduce these tyres. to the exact original specifications. These Vee Rubber tyres are among the very few options of tyres with strong beads to put on your wheel rims. Fitting however must be done competently, and riders must act responsibly.
