Charming Original French 1964 Velo Solex Model 2200 v 2

History 

This model was distinguishable by

– Tubular Frame

– New motor, more powerful, 3000 rpm.

– Anti-parasitic ignition.

– New, black air filter cover with the S 2200 insignia.

– New cylinder head with the spark plug vertical from October, 1962 onwards.

– New handle bar with the control synchronized by the same cable between the front brake and the throttle.

This model was made for only 3 years between 1961 and 1964, the 2200 v2 being more desirable

Initial Observations

• In Oily Rag Condition, ready for restoration this has come straight from a French Barn and been given a clean.
• The Metal tank is in surprisingly reasonable condition as many got wrecked
• The saddle has had a bit of tape on it as a repair
• Stand has been broken off in past.
• Most parts to restore this model are available from Classic Moped Spares at reasonable rates within the Uk. There is also lots of help and advice available free of charge from Solex fans online.
• This bike has been imported and the NOVA documentation processed and a certificate number issued. This means that it is much easier to then apply for an age related registration number should you require it  

This bike has now had a new tyre and tube and started up and run.
