You have possibly heard the term 'Simplex' used with Velosolex. The Solex was always designed to be simple to work on. It is after all a bicycle with a small front mounted engine with a front mudguard cut out for the drive roller to engage.

On the 6th April 2016 my mother sadly passed away after losing her fight with cancer. The past few weeks and months have been extremely hard and I appreciate all the support and help I have had from everyone, including Family, Friends, Customers and Carers, and in particular St Margaret's Hospice, Taunton.

One of the best kept secret suppliers of Classic Moped Parts in the UK, is Classic Moped Spares! But then I would say that being a true enthusiast that started off collecting and restoring Raleigh Runabouts as a hobby. Soon local lads used to turn up and say can you fix this mate or help me get this part.

Moped Rims are now back in stock for the classic Raleigh Mopeds and Mobylette among many others. New rims are now available which have been specially manufactured to High Italian Specifications. After all worth riding on decent wheels!

August 19, 2016Many Mobylette Engines were fitted with a BA10 or AR2 Gurtner Carburettor. The BA was common on early models and then later models had the AR2 as standard. Higher performance models had the H14 Carb, but we will not concern ourselves with those for the moment.
